We accept all levels of diving certification and even non-divers who want a new challenge are more than welcome. Age is no barrier to becoming a diving professional either. The minimum entry age is 18, as for the oldest, there is no restriction. We have had candidates “retraining” for their new career after they had retired from work at 54 years young and our most senior was 66!
We are totally unique from all other Dive Centres. You will NOT be running around after customers, getting their equipment ready, carrying their tanks and generally being used as unpaid staff. We have had many years of experience in the diving industry, and running Dive Centres, and understand that it is not conducive to work 10 hours a day, 6 days a week in scorching heat, looking after others, whilst trying to learn to be a Professional Diver!
Another unique quality of our internships is we operate 5 days per week, so that gives you 2 days to absorb what you have learnt, get up to date on your reading, relax on the beach, or even go surfing!
But what about “on the job” experience? We have that covered. As you progress and pass your various diving courses you will be given more and more Dive Centre tasks to complete under the guidance of your Instructor Team. This builds your confidence and allows you to experience what being a Divemaster is all about. In addition we are affiliated to several other Dive Centres and when the time is right, and all parties agree, you can complete experience days with them, if you want.
During your time with us you will learn to be a dive guide and teaching assistant. Also we teach you how to maintain the diving equipment and obviously lots and lots of diving !
Throughout your internship our Scuba Instructor Team will be on hand to ensure you will have a great time and give you loads of assistance.
All diving is FREE for the whole duration you are with us some of our interns manage over 100 dives!
On staff we have 2 PADI Master Instructor’s, PADI Staff Instructor and PADI Divemaster’s, who are all there to ensure your Divemaster internship runs smoothly, and that you make the best of all of the opportunities that are presented to you.
The majority of our PADI Divemasters have gone on to use the qualification for employment in some form or for continuing their education. Some are now working PADI Divemasters others continued on to be PADI Instructors.
The PADI Divemaster internship candidate places are limited, and on a first come, first served basis.
We run the internships all year round, however in the summer places are very limited due to our popularity.
Our facilities are truly 5 Star. With a large, modern open plan classroom, wet and dry areas and Projectors, screens, multiple large TV’s, absolutely everything you expect, so when we say 5 Star, its not just a title given by someone we actually provide it!!
And its not just about our enviable scuba facilities.
We have probably the best dive site in Tenerife just outside the front door.
Every Dive Centre in Tenerife travels to our House Reef, some every day, just to use what we have just a short walk from out Dive Centre.
Not PADI certified? Don’t worry, as there are crossovers for all levels of BSAC, SSAC, CMAS, FEDAS, SSI, NAUI, SAA, SCOT SAC etc, so just let us know what agency and what level you are and we will tell you the next PADI level required or check our crossover table here.
English not your first language? No problem, we have had candidates on our internships from more than 25 countries (check our World of interns map). The PADI materials come in many languages, although you must have basic conversational English to start the internship. During your time with us your English will improve HUGELY and who knows you can teach us a few words of your language too.
